FEAST OF CORPUS CHRISTI

Today, the Corpus Christi procession took place. At the first altar, a flame issued from the Host and pierced my heart, and I heard a voice, Here is My resting place. Ardor burst into flame in my heart. I felt that I am transformed completely into Him. ST. FAUSTINA DIARY-1140 June 1, 1937.

Once, the image was being exhibited over the altar during the Corpus Christi procession [June 20, 1935]. When the priest exposed the Blessed Sacrament, and the choir began to sing, the rays from image pierced the Sacred Host and spread out all over the world. Then I heard these words: These rays of mercy will pass through you, just as they have passed through this Host, and they will go out through all the world. At these words, profound joy invaded my soul. ST. FAUSTINA DIARY- 441

HOLY MARY, OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE, PLEASE PRAY FOR US.

Prayer to Our Lady of Guadalupe for the Sick and Suffering

Immaculate Mother, Blessed Virgin Mary of Guadalupe, health of the sick, Your anointed heavenly hands healed Juan Bernadino and brought us the River of Light, of Live, and of Health: Into Your heavenly hands I commend my faith, my hope and all my sufferings. Please unite them to the Passion of Your Son, Jesus Christ, that they may serve as instruments of my salvation and the salvation of all my brothers and sisters.

From this moment on, I accept all that the Sacred Heart of Your Son may wish to send me. I desire to complete in my life what is lacking to His redeeming Passion. O Blessed Virgin Mary of Guadalupe, I trust that you will give me the strength and all that I need to live with spiritual health and if it serves God's glory and my true well[-being, you will give me my physical health also.

O Mary, so motherly, so kind, heal us and make us whole and let us always be under your glorious turquoise Mantle Amen

If one wants Healing: one can Pray this Prayer :

Jesus : "Let them repent before Me with these words:"

Lord, you have endured me all these years with my sins, but nonetheless You pitied me;

I was led astray in every way, but now I will sin no more; I have wronged You and I have been unjust; I will be so, no more; I renounce sin, I renounce the Devil, I renounce iniquity that stains my soul; free my soul from all that is against Your holiness;

I entreat You, Lord, to rescue me from all evil; Come Jesus now, come now and abide in my heart;

Forgive me, Lord, and allow me to rest in You, For You are my Shield, my Redeemer and my Light and in You do I trust;

From today I will bless You Lord at all times;

I repudiate evil and all other gods and idols, for You are the Most High over the world, far transcending all other gods;

By Your mighty arm, rescue me from ill health, rescue me from being a captive, rescue me from trouble and defeat my enemy the Devil; come quickly to my help O Saviour!

Amen

Sudden Calming of a Storm - At Once the Storm Completely Subsided

 ST. FAUSTINA: There was a Terrible Storm last night. I bowed my face low to
the ground and started to say the Litany of the Saints. Towards the end of the Litany,
such drowsiness came over me that I could in no way finish the prayer. Then I got up and
said to the Lord, “Jesus, Calm the Storm, for Your child is unable to pray any longer,
and I am heavy with sleep.” After these words, I threw the window wide open, not even
securing it with hooks. Sister N. [probably sister Fabiola Pawluk] then said to me, “Sister,
what are you doing! The wind will surely tear the window loose!” I told her to sleep in
peace, and at once the Storm Completely Subsided. The next day, the sisters talked about
the Sudden Calming of the Storm, not knowing what this meant. I said nothing, but I
merely thought within myself: Jesus and little Faustina know what it means……

The Power of Divine Mercy Chaplet.
St.Faustina: When a Great Storm was Approaching, I began to say The Chaplet. Suddenly I heard the voice of an Angel: "I cannot approach in this Storm, because the light which comes from her mouth drives back both me and the Storm." Such was the Angel's complaint to God. I then Recognized how much Havoc he was to have made through this Storm; but I also Recognized that this Prayer was Pleasing to God, and that this Chaplet was Most Powerful. (Diary, 1791)

Lord, Most High,all elements of nature obey
your command keep us safe from all dangers
and to calm all the storms of life that threaten us:
especially the attack of whirlwinds and tornadoes,
the calamity and destruction of hurricanes,
the din and damage of hail storms,
the striking of thunderbolts and lightning,
and the devastation of floods and tidal waves.

May we be secure in your loving protection,
seek your Will in all our experiences,
and serve you always with grateful hearts.
We ask this through our Lord, Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.

Most Holy Virgin Mary, appointed by God to be the Help of Christians, we choose you as the Mother and Protectress of our home.

We ask you to favor us with your powerful protection. Preserve our home from every danger; from fire, flood, lightning, storm, earthquake, thieves, vandals, and from every other danger, including evil spirits.

Bless us, protect us, defend us, keep as your own, all the people who dwell in this home: Protect them from all accidents and misfortunes, but above all obtain for them the most important grace of avoiding sin.

Mary, Help of Christians, pray for all those who live in this home which is consecrated to you for all time.

MARY, JOY OF HOLY TRINITY.

When Mary was Born, There was a Great Joy in Heaven, And the Whole of God's Creation Rejoiced because Mary The Perfect Eve, The Blessed among all woman, The Mother of our Savior was Born.

In Heaven The BLESSED TRINITY, proclaimed to choirs of Angels:
"Our Chosen One shall be called Mary and her name is to be
powerful in Grace!"

GOD created Mary's immaculate soul, and showed it to the
choirs of Angels in Heaven. The angels felt intense joy of
Her unique beauty.

Upon birth of Mary, Archangel Gabriel was sent to make
known the great news to:
• All the Prophets
• Patriarchs
• And souls in Limbo - all which praised GOD that the
Mother of the REDEEMER was in the world.

The Nature had movement of joy, good people felt an unusual
spiritual joy without knowing the cause. On the contrary evil men
and possessed persons were extremely disturbed.

PRAYER: O Holy Trinity Remember not the Wickedness of Mankind but Remember the Day when Mary was Born, Remember the Love Infant Mary Offered you and Through Mary Bless us and the Whole World.

"This mystery [of the Holy Childhood of Mary] seems to be very little known. I think you  have a great task........ to deepen the appreciation of the mystery of Mary’s childhood." Pope John Paul II, [speaking to the Sisters of Charity of Milan)

The History of Maria Bambina

History of Maria Bambina

The simulacrum (image) was modeled in wax in 1735 by Sister Isabella Chiara Fornari (1697-1744), superior of the Poor Clare Sisters in Todi, Italy. Life size waxen images of both the Infant Jesus and the Infant Mary were widely venerated during the counter-reformation (16th century).

Bishop Alberico Simonetta brought the waxen image of Maria Bambina to Milan on his return to his native town in 1738. A year or so after his death the Capuchin sisters of the Monastery of St. Maria degli Angeli obtained from his brother the original Maria Bambina. These sisters were entrusted with the image because they were dedicated to the education of the youth and to the teaching of Catholic doctrine. The Capuchin Sisters soon became fervent devotees of the mystery of the Nativity of Mary.

During the suppression of religious congregations under Emperor Joseph II and Napoleon in 1810, the image was in the custody of Sister Barbara Viazzoli, the last Capuchin Sister who had the image in her keeping. She took it with her to the ex-monastery of the Canonichesse Lateranensi in Via dell’ Annunciato where some sisters lived together in private.

Upon her death it was given to the pastor of the St. Marco Church, Fr. Luigi Bosisio who in turn entrusted it to Mother Superior Teresa Bosio of the Sisters of Charity at the Ciceri Hospital in 1842. On April 24,1876 the waxen image was brought to its current location at the Motherhouse of the Sisters of Charity.

During this time, devotion to Maria Bambina was mostly limited to the sisters and novices within the religious community. The image was usually exposed in the novitiate and moved to the chapel only on the Nativity of Mary (September 8th) and during the Octave (8-day period of observance including the feast day and the 7 following days). Time and events left their mark on the wax. The face became discolored and unattractive, so much so that "it was more likely to extinguish devotion than to awaken it." It was then removed from the Novitiate and was placed in a "large chest of drawers". Each year, it was taken from the chest of drawers and brought to the chapel and displayed only on the Nativity of Mary and during the Octave.

Beginning on September 9, 1884 Maria Bambina rewarded those who had devotion to her. Sister Josephine Woinovich was bedridden and in unbearable pain due to paralysis of her arms and feet. On the 8th of September she begged the Mother General Nazari to bring the image of Maria Bambina to the infirmary to remain near her overnight. The following morning Mother General was inspired to take Maria Bambina, so old, worn, and gray to the other sick sisters in the infirmary so that they could venerate Our Lady's image. In the infirmary was a devout novice, Giulia Macario, who was unable to move because of her serious illness. With ardent faith, she took the likeness of the Child Mary into her arms and tenderly pleaded with Maria for the grace to regain her health. Immediately she was miraculously cured.

After this miracle, the venerated simulacrum was kept in Mother General Nazari’s room. On October 18, 1884, the Feast of the Motherhood of Mary, Maria Bambina, dressed anew and placed in a beautiful cradle, was carried in a solemn manner and placed between two candelabra in a room on the first floor as its provisional chapel. There the sisters would stop to spend time in prayer on the single bench provided.

In the following months, Sister Crocifissa Mismetti and Sister Giuseppa Woinovich were miraculously cured through the intercession of Maria Bambina. Many graces and miracles come from devotion to Maria Bambina. Sister Josephine Woinovich, the sister who originally had asked the Mother General to bring the Baby Mary to the infirmary, also recovered. That is why these Sisters of Charity have become known as the Sisters of Maria Bambina.

On January 16, 1885, the Sisters started noticing an amazing transformation in the image of Maria Bambina which changed from the former dull yellow and gray color to warm flesh hues while its features were becoming so lovely as to make it look like the face of a living baby. From the preface of a booklet published, one comes to know that the "Santa Madonnina [Madonnina - an affectionate diminutive meaning little Madonna] was famous in the city" and that "whole crowds hastened to the simulacrum to venerate the childhood of the Blessed Virgin Mother and obtain from her extraordinary graces." This same image of Maria Bambina is the one venerated today at the Motherhouse in Milan.

On September 8, 1888 Mother General Clementina Lachmann carried Maria Bambina to the new chapel. Mother General Nazari died in January 1888 without seeing the completion of the chapel she had in mind. Though it was to be a real shrine, the Archbishop of Milan was concerned that pilgrims visiting the chapel was not suited to the Sisters’ retired style of life. However, Maria Bambina had "jealously desired to be inside the Mother House." The chapel was then open to the public every day from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM for the people who came from afar to venerate the image .

On May 31, 1904 the image was solemnly crowned by Cardinal Ferrari and on September 9, 1909 Mother Superior Ghezzi obtained from St. Pope Pius X, that a plenary indulgence be gained on September 8 in all the Chapels of the Sisters of Charity.

In subsequent years an arch confraternity of Maria Bambina and the "League of the Innocent" were founded. It became the custom to give newly married couples a small wax image of Maria Bambina as a wedding gift. The devotion to Maria Bambina spread from the Milan area to the whole of Italy.

During World War II, On October 24, 1942, the Mother House was hit by incendiary bombs. In February, 1942 Mother General Reali had the image carried to a safe place on Via Maggianico. During the days of August 15th and 16th, 1943 with the constant bombing, the shrine and Mother House fell into ruins. However, the destruction of the shrine did not deter the sisters and the people of Milan from celebrating the Feast of the Nativity of Mary on the ruins.

On September 4, 1945, Maria Bambina was returned to Milan. After a three day celebration in Her honor, at a nearby chapel of the Visitation, she was provisionally installed in a chapel in the home for the sick at Via Mercalli, which functioned as a temporary Mother House while the current Mother House was under construction. On November 18, 1953 she was taken to the new shrine and on November 21, 1953 the new shrine was consecrated by Cardinal Schuster.

Each year on the Feast of the Nativity of Mary, the Sisters touch small pieces of cotton to the miraculous image. These pieces of cotton are then distributed as sacramentals to those who have a devotion to Maria Bambina.

The center of devotion to Mary as an infant is currently based in the interior chapel of the Motherhouse of the Sisters of Charity located in Milan, Italy at Via Santa Sofia 13. The Sisters of Charity are the guardians of the miraculous wax image of the Infant Mary. One can visit during the hours of 8:00 AM – 12:30 PM and 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM.

ALL THOSE WHO CALL ME BY THE NAME OF FATHER, EVEN IF ONLY ONCE, WILL NOT PERISH

»…I assure you, you do not know Me as I am, because I am coming to proclaim Myself the Father of all and the most tender of fathers, in order to transform your love, which has become distorted by fear. I come to make Myself similar to My creatures, to correct the idea you have of a terrifyingly just God, as I see men spending their whole lives without confiding in their only Father, Whose only wish is to make their earthly life easier and then give them a divine life, in heaven. This is a proof that souls do not know Me any more than you do, not having overcome the idea you have about Me. But now I am giving you this light. Remain in the light and bring it to everybody, and it will be a powerful means both to obtain conversions and to shut, if possible, the gates of hell, for I now repeat My promise, which will last for ever: ALL THOSE WHO CALL ME BY THE NAME OF FATHER, EVEN IF ONLY ONCE, WILL NOT PERISH, BUT WILL BE SURE OF THEIR ETERNAL LIFE AMONG THE CHOSEN ONES.«

From the book, "The Father Speaks to His Children"

-----------------------------------------------------------
Pope Francis: God too weeps, like a father who never disowns his children

Pope Francis says God too weeps, just like a loving father who never disowns his children even if they are rebellious. This was the message stressed during his homily on Tuesday morning at the Santa Marta residence in the Vatican.

In his homily Pope Francis takes the day’s reading which portrays the figure of two fathers, King David who mourns the death of his rebel son Absalom and Jairus, the head of the Synagogue, who implores Jesus to heal his daughter. The Pope explains David’s weeping on hearing of the killing of his son, even though this son was fighting against him to conquer his kingdom. David’s army had won but he wasn’t interested in the victory, he was waiting for his son. He was only interested in his son! David was a king, the head of a nation but he was also a father. And therefore, when he heard the news about the death of his son, he shuddered, and went to an upper room and wept.
“Whilst he was walking away, he was saying: ‘My son, Absalom. My son! My son, Absalom! If only I had died instead of you! Absalom, my son! My son!’ This is the heart of a father, who never disowns his own son. ‘He’s a bandit, he’s an enemy. But he is my son!’ and David does not disown his fatherhood: he weeps.. David weeps twice for his children: On this occasion and another time when the son from his adultery was about to die. On that occasion too, he fasted and did penance in order to save the life of the son. He was a father!”

The other father is the head of the Synagogue. The Pope said Jairus is an important person but faced with the illness of his daughter, he is not ashamed to throw himself at Jesus’ feet: “My little daughter is dying, please come and lay your hands on her so she can be saved and live.” He is not ashamed and doesn’t care what the others may say, because he is a father. David and Jairus are two fathers:
“For them, the most important thing is their son, their daughter! There is nothing else. This is the only important thing! This makes us think about the first thing that we say to God in the Creed: “I believe in God the Father..” This makes us think about the fatherhood of God. But God is like this. God is like this with us! ‘But, Father, God doesn’t weep!’ But yes, he does! Remember Jesus how he wept when looking at Jerusalem. ‘Jerusalem, Jerusalem! How many times have I wished to gather your children, like the hen who gathers her chicks under her wings’. God weeps! Jesus has wept for us! And that weeping of Jesus is exactly that of a Father who weeps, who wants everybody with him”.

Pope Francis stressed how in moments of difficulty, “Our Father responds. We remember Isaac, when he goes with Abraham to do the sacrifice: Isaac was not stupid, he realized that he was carrying the wood, the fire, but not the sheep for the sacrifice. He was stricken with anguish in his heart! And what does he say? ‘Father!’. And immediately the father replies “Here I am my son!’. In the same way, Jesus, in the Garden of Olives, said “with that anguish in his heart: My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass me by!’ And the angels came to give him strength. That’s how our Father is: He is a Father and a Father like this!” A Father like the one who was waiting for the prodigal son who left with all his money, all his inheritance. But the father was waiting for him every day and he “saw him from far away”. “This is our God!” the Pope said, and “our fatherhood” - that of fathers of families as well as the spiritual fatherhood of bishops and priests – must be like this. The Father has like an anointing that comes from the son: he can’t understand himself without his child! And for this reason he needs his child, he is waiting for him, he loves him, he looks for him, he forgives him, he wants him close to him, just as close as the hen who wants her chicks”:
“Let’s go home today with these two icons: David who mourns and the other, Jairus, the head of the Synagogue, who throws himself in front of Jesus, without being afraid or ashamed to become the laughing stock of others. It was their children, the son and the daughter who mattered. And with these two icons let’s say: ‘I believe in God the Father…’. And let’s ask the Holy Spirit – because it’s only He, the Holy Spirit – who teaches us to say “Abba, Father!’ It’s a grace! - to be able to say to God ‘Father’ with our hearts is a grace of the Holy Spirit. Let’s ask him for this”.
