GO TEACH, PREACH " NOW SHARE WHAT YOU'VE RECEIVED!"

St. Anthony: Many of those who Oppose the Teachings of the Lord are Educated men.

Sent to the City of Bologna, Anthony Helped to Organize a House of Studies where he Taught the Friars Sacred Scripture and the Truth of the Catholic Faith. After the hours spent in the classroom, he would ask the Brothers to GO OUT and PREACH to the People. " NOW SHARE WHAT YOU'VE RECEIVED!" he'd Encourage them. Whenever he wasn't Teaching, Anthony himself Went Out to Preach, too.

Once a Prominent person of the Town of Rimini Wrote to Anthony and Begged him to Come and Preach there. People had Fallen away from the Faith and Confusion was Spreading throughout the area.

Anthony went to his Superior with the Letter. "Father Guardian, I could reach Rimini in three days, Preach for a week and then return." There was an Earnestness in his voice as he added, " May I have your Permission to make the trip?"  THE GUARDIAN STUDIED ANTHONY. It was clear that the Young Priest was not well. His legs and ankles were painfully swollen and his face was pale and drawn. He's never fully recovered from that illness he contracted in Morocco, the Superior thought. BUT IT WAS ANTHONY'S EYES THAT CAUGHT AND HELD THE OLDER PRIEST'S ATTENTION, THOSE EYES THAT SEEMED TO BURN WITH A SECRET FIRE. THE GUARDIAN KNEW THAT FIRE ----- THE FIRE OF LOVE..............

Then (Anthony) Looking Straight into the eyes of the Farmer, he Asked Quietly, " Will I See you at Mass Tomorrow?"

The Farmer Quickly Looked Away. What is it about this Priest? He Thought to himself. He (Anthony) Seems to See Right into my soul................

But those devoted to the senses do not look; 'nor do they consider the works of his hands,' which were pierced by the nails upon the Cross." ~St. Anthony of Padua

St. Anthony Preaches to the Fish:

Hear the word of God you Fishes of the Sea

"Blessed be the Eternal God!" Anthony Cried out. "His Fish Honour Him More than His People who Refuse to Listen to His Word!"

How Saint Anthony Brought Fire to the World

Short Story - St. Anthony and the Devil.

From that time on, there was fire in every hearth, and people sit around merrily telling stories on winter nights. Saint Anthony took his pig and returned to his simple life in the desert.

FEAST DAY, JUNE 13

"Attribute to God every good that you have received. If you take credit for something that does not belong to you, you will be guilty of theft."

St. Anthony is titled the Evangelical Doctor, Wonder-Worker and Hammer of Heretics; but more importantly he is renowned for his personal holiness. His sanctity and wisdom flowed from his profound, penetrating love for the Immaculate Virgin Mary. Heroically he followed the Poverello of Assisi, St. Francis, whose tender love for the poor, humble Virgin was comparable only to that of Christ Himself.
